In May 2010,  a GOAL team led by Bob Hughes conducted two highly successful trainings in addiction and alcoholism basics in Dodoma, the political and intellectual capital of Tanzania. These were jointly sponsored by GOAL, The Diocese of Central Tanganyika (Anglican Church of Tanzania) and Msalato Theological College, with grant support from Fifth Avenue Presbyterian Church and private donors. Participating in the trainings were 130 clergy, medical personnel and community leaders.  GOAL with its partners -planted the beginnings of the 12-step groups of AA, NA, and Alanon  where previously there were none and strengthened existing recovery groups  in Dar Es Salaam, Zanzibar and Arusha. Look for the AA Grapevine to carry a more detailed story of these trainings.
